Stuart had just turned sixteen and on 19 September 2005 he collected his new scooter, which was delivered to the MSM training centre in Manchester.
The scooter is a Peugeot Jetforce 50, 50cc and governed to 30mph. Makes the Demm Dove I had at sixteen look a bit lame.
Fuel injection, water cooled, disc brakes front and rear it's got more on it than my Beemer.
Right: Stu on his CBT test
We had both gone out for a ride, me on the Beemer and Stu on his scooter. On the way back we called at Trading Post Motorcycles in Mossley. They deal mainly in Harleys with the odd Indian or British bike thrown in. There are usually some exotic pieces of custom bikes outside, and we were not disappionted. So we took a couple of photo's next to a very nice piece of kit.
Stu had bought his Suzuki GT200 ready for when he passes his bike test, with the intention of selling the Jet Force. Unfortunately things didn't go quite to plan. He was slowing down in traffic, got distracted and before he realised what was happening. The traffic had stopped and he ran into the back of a car. Luckily he was uninjured and apart from damage to the car exhaust the driver was ok. However his Jet Force didn't fair so well. The impact took out all the front plastics, including headlights and indicators and The front forks are slightly bent. Cost to repair around £600.
The Jet Force 50 is no longer with us she has been sold on.
